EID Intern-Research Scientist - Coal Conversion Research

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses
* Conduct coal conversion (gasification and poly-generation) research and process improvement with focus on inventing new
* Communicate effectively with GE Global Research Center leadership, GE Energy business, external customers, and team members
* Document results through patent applications, technical reports, presentations, and publications

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
* PhD/MS in Chemical Engineering /Thermal-engineering/Mechanical Engineering
* Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to contribute as part of a cross-functional development team
* Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major change
* Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem
* High energy with passion for excellence
