Manufacturing Test Engineer

Responsibilities will include:
· Acting as the manufacturing technical expert in our China Supply Chain Team;
· Working closely with Ottawa engineering team to develop test strategies, set up the functional test systems including hardware and software at our Contract Manufacturer (CM) location in China;
· Providing technical support to the CM during production ramp and volume production;
· Troubleshooting and resolving production line technical issues;
· Having responsibility for the calibration, maintenance and support of fixtures, tooling and test equipment located at the CM;
· Monitoring product test yields throughout the product test flow, and driving the CM to optimize the test process continuously;
· Performing other related duties as assigned by our Asia management; The successful candidate will possess:
· University degree in Telecom or electronics engineering with 5+ years experience in test software development programming and hardware debugging;
· Experience with TestStand and Labview NI software in the development of test cases for product manufacturing;
· Experience using and automating a wide range of test equipment including power supplies, DMMs, switches, OSAs, BERTs, traffic generation instrumentation;
· Familiarity with UNIX / Linux environments an asset;
· Ability to design Functional Test Jigs;
· Strong understanding of electronics including but not limited to optical control and high speed digital circuits;
· Knowledge of 1G /10G Ethernet, SONET, SDH, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel;
· Knowledge of modern electronics manufacturing practices and structural test techniques;
· Knowledge of statistical process control techniques;
· Familiar with the test procedure of PCB assembly and system integration;
· Must be fluent in both Mandarin and English - written and verbal;
· Strong team skills;
