Introduction:
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Specialist to join Metso’s Smelting team in China. This role is critical in supporting customers across majsmelting projects, including commissioning, start-ups, troubleshooting, maintenance planning, technical advisory services fkey equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with local global teams to ensure safe, high-quality delivery of aftermarket support solution implementation.
This position will replace a retiring seniexpert includes a structured knowledge-transfer onboarding period to ensure continuity of expertise within the region.
What you will do:
● Provide on-site technical support fsmelting furnace equipment, including inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance recommendations, operational guidance.
● Support commissioning plant start-up activities fnew installations majshutdowns.
● Serve as a technical advisto customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues high customer satisfaction.
● Collaborate with global Technical Sales Support (TSS) to prepare scopes, documentation, support fspare parts, upgrades, service solutions.
● Participate in performance reviews, root-cause analyses, technical investigations.
● Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, feedback to support continuous improvement.
● Contribute to internal training, knowledge transfer, capability building within the market area.
Who you are:
● Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, related field.
● 5+ years of experience in smelting, furnace operations, heavy industrial equipment, site service environments.
● Strong troubleshooting diagnostic skills.
● Experience with commissioning, field service work, plant maintenance is preferred.
● Ability to work independently in demanding site environments, including extended customer travel.
● Effective communication skills in Mandarin English.
● Strong safety mindset; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
