南京国际学校是一所由教育部批准设立的，按照国外教学模式和理念运作的，仅招收外籍人员子女的国际学校。经授权，南京国际学校教授国际文凭组织 (International Baccalaureate Organization) 所有的三个教学项目 (IBPYP, IBMYP, IBDP) 。此外，学校还通过了NEASC, CIS和NCCT的认证。学校现有中外员工185名，教学语言和工作语言均为英文。
在学校申请职位必须愿意接受儿童保护审核，提供所有曾经生活过、工作过的国家/地区的相关无犯罪记录证明。
