Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to lead the mechanical design technical innovation flarge-scale hyperscale data center projects across SEA. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, PUE efficiency, cost-effectiveness of our critical infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on both traditional mechanical systems advanced liquid cooling technologies (10MW+ single campus/buildings).
Job Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Design Management: Lead the mechanical design lifecycle, from early-stage concept development feasibility studies to detailed design reviews (Issued fConstruction - IFC). Oversee equipment bidding, technical bid evaluations, vendmanagement.
2. Technical Standards & Localization: Establish, implement, iterate regional mechanical design standards specifications. Ensure designs comply with local statutory requirements, building codes, energy efficiency regulations (e.g., local MEPS, ESOS).
3. Innovation & Liquid Cooling: Spearhead the research, development, deployment of new mechanical technologies. Drive the adoption of advanced liquid cooling solutions (requirement: design capability f10MW+ systems) to meet high-density rack demands.
4. Lifecycle Optimization: Manage the full project lifecycle, balancing CAPEX/OPEX, conducting reliability assessments (Tier III/IV), ensuring constructability maintainability.
5. Site Technical Authority: Act as the primary technical point of contact fmechanical systems during construction. Resolve complex site engineering issues to ensure the design intent is fully realized.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams (Civil, Architectural, Electrical, ELV) external consultants. Mentjuniengineers foster a culture of technical excellence.
Job Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering related fields. Deep knowledge of international data center standards (Uptime Tier, TIA-942, ASHRAE, EN 50600). Experience with local GB standards is a plus but not required.
2. 6+ years of solid experience in mission-critical mechanical design, with a proven track record of independently leading large-scale infrastructure projects (preferably Data Centers, Semi-conductor, Power Plants).
3. Proficient in thermo-fluid dynamics, load calculations, selection of core equipment (Chillers, Cooling Towers, AHUs, Pumps, CRAH/CRAC).
4. Liquid Cooling: In-depth understanding of direct-to-chip immersion cooling architectures. Hands-on experience with 10MW+ liquid cooling implementation is highly desirable.
5. Regional Exposure: Priexperience in the Asian market with international design institutes is advantageous. Familiarity with Design-Build (D&B) delivery models is a plus.
6. Excellent communication coordination skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment. High proficiency in English (written verbal) is mandatory.
