Axell Wireless is a global market leader in the provision of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and wireless coverage products for both public safety and cellular applications.

Axell has pioneered wireless coverage and DAS systems for 40 years and achieved sales in over 150 countries including with over 170 mobile and public safety operators. At the heart of Axell’s success is technological innovation resulting in Axell being the first company to bring to market many different coverage techniques and systems both for public safety and cellular applications. Examples include the use of frequency and band shifting technology to enhance cell site coverage, the use of DSP (digital signal processing) filtering for in building coverage solutions, the development of broadband DAS fibre optics systems to support a mixture of both public safety and cellular frequency bands from one head end, and the first commercially available GSM-R and Tetra coverage systems – all to name a few.

Today Axell is pioneering the support of LTE 4G networks around the world by enabling operators to support multiple (including all major narrow and wide band) technologies in multiple frequency bands, an increasing requirement given the cost and limited availability of spectrum. In addition Axell has developed a next generation DAS system that enables operators to more easily move capacity around buildings and infrastructure complexes, a growing need especially in the cellular world where demand and capacity requirements are exploding due to the mass adoption of SMART phones and mobile broadband technology.
