The Lindauer DORNIER GmbH is a leading producer with its weaving machines, film stretching machines for the production of high-quality films as well as dryers for the paperboard and gypsum fibreboard industry. With about 1,000 employees in the two factories in Lindau and Esseratsweiler these products are produced and exported to 90%. The Lindauer DORNIER GmbH explicitly avows itself to Germany as manufacturing base, so new production, logistic and weaving trials for customer buildings were erected. DORNIER is with affiliated companies in the USA, China, India and Turkey international positioned.

Lindauer DORNIER GmbH was founded in 1950 and initially manufactured shuttle weaving machines. With the introduction of a shuttle-less weaving machine in 1967 the stage was set for the company’s advancement to be an internationally renowned weaving machine manufacturer. In 1989 the delivery program was completed by an air-jet weaving machine.

Products / Services

As one of the worldwide leading weaving machine manufacturers DORNIER became quite early – in 1968 with a first rapier weaving machine group for reinforcing fabric – aware of the market for technical textiles and satisfied its demand.

Nowadays, the company offers with the system family consisting of rapier and air-jet weaving machine, a product portfolio with which all kinds of technical textiles, with highest quality standard, can be produced. Yarns between 7 den and 3333 tex can be used without difficulties. That leads to an application range from finest spinnaker silk to airbag fabrics to the point of glas, aramid and carbon fabric.

The production range comprises rapier and air-jet weaving machines for terry, EasyLeno and TireCord as well as all applications in technical textiles, home textiles and garments.

The company is as well leading in the production of film stretching machines for the production on mono- and biaxial orientated films like for example polypropylene, polyester, PVC, PEN and polystyrene.

In order to improving the service in Asia, Dornier machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in China (Shanghai) Pilot Tax Free Zone, including sales, service, warehouse, training center and Shanghai trial center.
