Responsibilities:
As a SeniSoftware Quality Engineer in the Alluxio QA team, you will be responsible fvarious aspects of delivering the Alluxio project as a product the hands of our users. You’ll be involved from beginning to end of the development process, from understanding the motivations behind the issues to solve with the product team, designing implementing solutions with other engineers, supporting the features tools after they are deployed. The ability to learn execute independently while operating in cloud-based environments is a must to keep up with the fast paced growth.
This is a hands-on role in which you will design implement comprehensive testing frameworks, improving productivity of our development/QE teams bringing standardization to our processes practices. You will authenhance test plans based on feature requirements specifications, as well as technical discussions deep dives with engineers. Partner with customer facing people such as PMs,SEs, Engineering to better understhow customers interface use our product to investigate, troubleshoot identify fixes fcustomer-facing issues.You will also have the opportunity to work on our internal deployment infrastructure.This infrastructure needs the capability to deploy Alluxio with an enormous number of storage systems compute frameworks. It automates all deployment steps, like exposing the deployment, configuration, job execution of these clusters generically fother engineers to build their use cases from. The infrastructure also serves as the backbone fbenchmarking the performance of Alluxio. This is an awesome opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in a highly visible role.
Essential Requirements:
1.BS Master degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study equivalent practical experience.
2.2 years of software development experience in Python. Java similar languages is a plus.
3.3+ years experience delivering quality software in a large distributed system with emphasis on functional performance automation, workloads testing
4.In-depth knowledge understanding of standard quality best practices, techniques methodologies to drive continuous quality improvements
5.Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment systems like Jenkins
6.Experience working with software development on Linux system
7.Strong technical conversational English language skills to be able to work with global teams customers
Desirable Requirements:
1.Familiarity with cloud deployment tools services (ex. Terraform preferably, AWS EMR, GCP dataproc)
2.Interest ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
3.Ability desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative iterative programming environment.
4.Experience on one specific native cloud, ex. Azure, AWS, GCP, Azure, AliCloud etc.
5.Contributed contributing to Alluxio. Experience contributing to and/maintaining an open source project.
