In order to better fulfill the customers' needs, Olympus will further intensify the building of more standard and efficient marketing and service systems as well as providing original and most advanced products. To this end, Olympus (Beijing) Sales and Service Co., Ltd. was established in Beijing by Olympus Corporation. With a direct investment of 5 million USD, the new company obtained its business license on the 4th of August in 2003 and has set up headquarter in the capital city and major branch offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou. The headquarter will be mainly responsible for expanding market and intensifying sales and service forces of Olympus Endoscopes and Bio-Microscopes in the northern part of China, while Shanghai and Guangzhou offices will be in charge of the eastern and southern areas. In addition, 21 contact offices have been in place in the various cities and provinces. The establishment of the new company has a significant and profound meaning for the whole Olympus Corporation, especially to our medical business. We believe that the company will not only push our China business forward, but also introduce into the country advanced management ideas and models and provide standard after-sales services. Our ultimate aim is to help our customers to attain the most desirable diagnosis, treatment and research results.
