成为国家标准机构，同时也是国际标准化组织ISO的创始成员之一。经过一个世纪的发展，
BSI已成为全球公认的良好实践专家。BSI负责发起了大量全球性通用管理体系标准，每年发布的标准数量超过250项。涵盖的领域包括：航空航天、建筑、能源、工程、金融、医疗、IT和零售等。

作为权威的标准制定和认证机构，BSI参与创立 了全球值得信赖和得到广泛认可的ISO
系列管理体系，目前被广泛运用的ISO 9001、ISO 14001、ISO 27001、OHSAS 18001（现已转换为ISO
45001:2018）均是由BSI颁布制定的管理体系BS标准转化而来。
