In August 2002, Citicorp Software and Technology Services (Shanghai) Limited (CSTS), a subsidiary of Citibank, and a member of Citigroup, was established. Providing software development and related technical services, the goal of CSTS is to participate in and support the development of China’s information technology industry.

The main task of CSTS is to provide software development and technology support for Citigroup in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Europe. Data processing services for Citigroup in the Asia-Pacific region are also provided. The organization is headquartered in Shanghai, with two other branches in Guangzhou and Zhuhai. CSTS currently employs around 900 employees, about 95% of which are software developers.

Our vision, our local talent, our world- facilities, and our global intellectual property make CSTS an important contributor to China’s IT sector, and an important element of Citigroup’s global operations. Looking ahead, CSTS will continue to grow our management team and consolidate our leadership in software and technology services for consumer banking. We will also extend our services to other Citigroup entities outside Asia-Pacific consumer businesses. It is the vision of CSTS to become a “Center of Excellence” in banking software both for Citigroup and for China.
