Airbus has a multi-national workforce and 20 on-site customer support teams across the country. In 2004, Airbus reached an agreement on subcontracting projects worth $100 million to Chinese manufacturers for further increasing its investment in China. Working with Chinese partners, Airbus also opened the JV Training Centre, a fully operational $80 million plus training and support centre that is the first of its kind in China. Airbus has created an Engineering Centre in Beijing, currently employing more than 100 to reach 200 engineers in the near future, who will be working in close co-operation with Airbus Centres of Excellence in Europe. A significant contribution for A350 to be increased on future programs will be coming from this engineering centre.
