We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer Supervis– Plant Specialist to provide on site technical, software, systems support within our manufacturing plant. In this role, you will lead a team ensuring smooth operation of production software, testing systems, digital tools that enable the development, manufacturing, qualification of high speed electrical interconnects. Your team will work closely with plant engineers, technicians, operators, the global Software Solutions Group to maintain, troubleshoot, enhance mission critical applications.
Success in this role requires strong problem solving skills, a hands on mindset, a passion fsupporting manufacturing operations through reliable software tools engineering workflows.

You will be part of the Software Solutions Group (SSG)—the core software digital engineering function within the Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU) under the Datacom & Specialty Solutions (DSS) division. As the core software team, we collaborate across theganization to deliver production setup applications fproduct families stand-alone tools that address challenges in every area of the business.
The SSG collaborates across global engineering, testing, manufacturing teams to deliver production ready software, plant floapplications, engineering tools that support all areas of the business.
What You Will Do
Lead, mentor, develop a team responsible fsupporting Python based desktop manufacturing software used across Molex plants.
Oversee prioritize troubleshooting fproduction test stations, automation software, data acquisition, validation workflows, ensuring rapid response minimizing downtime.
Ensure the team effectively addresses software bugs, user issues, plant flodisruptions while coordinating escalations with SSG engineering.
Perform software configuration updates, mincode enhancements, routine maintenance in Python based tools.
Extend existing tools build new features fplant users—prioritizing usability, performance, maintainability—while following SSG development practices including code reviews verification/validation.
Support deployment, testing, verification of new software features releases on the plant floor.
Work with electrical, mechanical, signal integrity engineers to support test system stability ensure accurate data collection.
Document troubleshooting steps, maintain support logs, communicate recurring issues to SSG flarger enhancements.
Conduct basic code reviews, functional testing, validation checks when rolling out updates.
Analyze test results collaborate on implementing software improvements to enhance reliability production efficiency.
Contribute feedback from plant users to help shape the development of scalable tools future improvements.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, related field.
2–5+ years of experience supporting engineering manufacturing environments, including exposure to test systems production software.
Practical experience with Python, including the ability to understand, maintain, modify scripted tools applications.
Familiarity with software architecture principles related to usability, reliability, maintainability.
Fluency in English & Mandarin
Natural Leader with sense of ownership accountability
Experience with Git, SVN, other source control tools.
Understanding of standard software verification validation practices.
Strong communication skills ability to clearly explain technical information to diverse teams.
Analytical problem solving skills, including the ability to test assumptions, interpret results, recommend corrective actions.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint fdocumentation reporting.
What Will Put You Ahead
Experience supporting manufacturing test equipment, electrical interconnects, automated test systems.
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams.
Exposure to creating executing test cases validation procedures.
Familiarity with scientific Python tools (NumPy, Pandas, Anaconda).
Ability to develop reusable scripts, libraries, utilities that support engineering tasks.
Hands on experience in a plant production support role, especially in electronics, testing, quality assurance environments.
