Established in September 2005, Cension Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation is an investment by Chengdu Hi-tech Investment Group Ltd and Chengdu Industry Investment & Management Co., Ltd. The total registered capital is 0.5 billion RMB. Cension is operated and managed by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation.
Cension owns the first 8”production line in western China capable of IC manufacturing services at 0.35 micro, 0.18 micro and finer-line technologies. The applications are in telecommunication, automobile, and consumer electronics markets. The capacity will be 20000 wafers per month in phase one.
